A
bout Snowflakes
Dr. Kenneth G. Libbrecht's web site is a rare find. He has put together a very usable, insteresting and beautiful page on snow flakes. The site is called snowcrystals.net! This site is all about snow crystals and snowflakes, and how these remarkably complex and beautiful structures appear, quite literally, out of thin air. The many facets of snow crystals are described, along with attempts to understand their formation.

Natural Snowflakes
If you're looking for snow crystal pictures, this is the place. They have photo collections from around the world, showing the many different types of snow crystals. In addition, learn about snow crystal classifications, how to make snow crystal fossils, and more.
Designer Snowflakes
Dr. Libbrecht is studying how snow crystals form, and as part of his research he creates snow crystals in the laboratory. He is even beginning to engineer "designer" snow crystals, with patterns of his own choosing.
